Psalm 8:3-5 NKJ - 3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, 4 What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? 5 For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor.
The existence of man can be seen as miraculous no matter which world view you hold. The human race has accomplished all sorts of amazing feats throughout history, yet when we think about man in comparison to the entire universe, we cannot help but feel extremely small. You are a single person among billions of other human beings that live on planet earth. This earth is one of several planets that exist in our solar system, which is a system of planets that orbit the sun. Our sun is one of a hundred billion stars in our galaxy. Even our galaxy is only one of billions of others.
This entire universe was brought into existence by the word of God. If man is so small in comparison to the universe, how can God, Who created the universe, be mindful of man? We seem to be insignificant in the grand scheme of things, and yet God sees us as significant. The entire Bible tells a story about how far an all-powerful God is willing to go in order to show His love for humanity.
John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." God is mindful of your laying down, and you're getting up because He loves you. God bless.
